UNC Asst. Coach Kim Schiemenz


A two-time NCAA National Champion in the heptathlon, Kim Schiemenz returns for her third season as an assistant coach for the UNC cross country and track and field programs. Schiemenz is arguably the best female track athlete in school history. She took part in the U.S. Olympic Trials in the summer of 2000 and finished 12th in the heptathlon at the competition in Sacramento, Calif. Schiemenz earned the NCAA Post-Graduate Scholarship in 1999. She graduated from UNC in 1999 with a degree in communications and earned her masters degree in 2001. She also competed in the World University Games in Beijing, China, in the heptathlon in 2000. Over the past year she has competed on the Golden Spikes Tour in the high jump. Schiemenz is currently ranked No. 3 in the U.S. in the heptathlon.
