Fort Collins, Colorado • Christiansen Field • 9:00 a.m.

Finale In Fort Collins

Northern Colorado travels to Fort Collins third and final time this week to compete in the Jack Christiansen Invitational. The meet is named for former student-athlete and coach Jack Christiansen and will be a scored meet. It will also serve as dual meets against Colorado Mines, Colorado and Wyoming.

He'll Always Be The First

Freshman Terrence McGaughy became the first student-athlete at Northern Colorado to ever quarlify for the NCAA Regionals - the stepping stone to the NCAA Championship. McGaughy won both the 100 and 200 meters at the Ram Open, clocking in at 10.47 and 21.22, respectively to surpass the regional standards and earn co-Big Sky Runner of the Week honors for the second time this season. McGaughy currently ranks 55th in the nation in the 100 and 18th in the midwest region. In the 200, he ranks 88th in the nation and 21st in the region.

New & Improved

The Bears qualified three student-athletes for the Big Sky Championship at the Ram Open. Freshman Abby Weedor finished third in the 100 meters, clocking a 12.24 to qualify, while sophomore Justine Sandersfeld qualified in her second event after placing second in the 200 with a time of 25.05. Sophomore Hunter Hoekstra also qualified in the men's 400 meter hurdles after crossing the tape in 54.23.

Northern Colorado has now qualified seven women in eight events for the Big Sky Conference Championship and there are 11 qualifying marks on the men's side. The conference championship will take place May 16-17 at Sacramento State.

Made To Be Broken

Sophomore Justine Sandersfeld broke the school record in the 400 meters for the second time this season, running a 55.60 at the prestigious Sun Angel Classic to break her own record of 56.10 from the Potts Invitational.
