Sarah Walker is in her second season as an assistant with the Bears cross country program.

She originally joined the staff in spring 2005 when she assisted with the track and field squads and focused on the distance runners. The 2005 season was her first working with the cross country program.

Walker is a 2004 graduate of Michigan State University, where she was an NCAA qualifier in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 2003 for the Spartans. She placed 18th at the 2003 NCAA Championships in that event after finishing third at the regional meet. Sarah was four-time all Big-Ten honoree in cross-country and track & field.

She holds the second-fastest time in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (10:17) at Michigan State and lettered in each 2002, 2003 and 2004.

A native of Ortonville, Mich., Walker attended Brandon High School where she was a two-time team captain and an all-state selection in the 800, 1600 and 3200.

The former Sarah Pepera, Walker and her husband Justin live in Greeley.
