Boulder, COLO. - The University of Northern Colorado women's cross country team continued to run well, finishing third at the Rocky Mountain Shootout, hosted by the University of Colorado. The squad scored 83 to finish behind Colorado and Wyoming, while the men's team placed fourth overall with 116 points. Colorado also won the men's competition, while Wyoming was second and the Air Force "B" team placed third.

For the second straight week, Denise Kintzley led the Bears, finishing the 5.8 kilometer course in 23:30 to finish 30^th. Colleen Sanderlin placed 37^th with a time of 34:01, while Jacqueline Lomax and Breanna Spletstoser finished back-to-back in 40^th and 41^st with identical times of 24:11. Kellie Callahan rounded out the team scoring, placing 47^th after clocking in at 24:22. Also competing for NC were Allison McIntire (55/24:37), Katie Wiederholt (60/25:01), Rachel Forrest (79/26:15), Emily Hartman (80/26:22), Erin Apsey (84/26:31), April Casados (87/26:34), Lilly Vanek (106/28:54), Chavonne Bowers (108/29:13) and Kyra Cyphers (113/31:21).

Freshman Daniel Sojka has now led the men's team in every meet this season, finishing 56^th overall in 28:55 over the eight kilometers. Benjamin Corchado placed 86^th overall after running a 30:24, while in 91^st position was Travis Swaim with a time of 30:47. Alex Rice placed 96^th, running a 31:25 and Billy Davenport closed out the team scoring in 101^st after clocking a 32:21. Anthony Martinez also ran for the Bears, placing 107^th after clocking a 34:19.
