2006: Division I All-Independent first-team selection ... played in 50 games, starting 47, in his first and only season with the program ... started eight games at catcher, seven at first base and 32 as the designated hitter ... led the team in home runs (12, one out of 10th place in single-season school history), RBI (49) and multiple-RBI games (16) ... among Division I Independent players, ranked fourth in RBI (0.98/game) and fifth in home runs (0.24/game) ... was named D-I Independent Newcomer of the Week on Feb. 28 after hitting .500 (7-for-14) with three runs, a home run, seven RBI, a .714 slugging percentage and a .533 on-base percentage at New Mexico State ... also named D-I Independent Newcomer of the Week on a month later on March 28 after hitting .417 (5-for-12) with four runs, a home run and six RBI in a series at BYU ... biggest hit of the season came in the 10th inning against IPFW (May 19) at the Division I Independent Invitational, when Harris hit a two-run home run to break a 11-11 tie as the Bears went on to win 14-11 and eventually claim the title at the event ... was a combined 6-for-8 (.750) in a two-game sweep at Kansas (May 13-14) including driving in the winning run in the Bears 8-7 victory on Saturday and scoring the winning run in Sunday's 7-4 win; Harris grew up only 20 miles from Lawrence, Kan. ... was 2-for-4 with three runs, five RBI, a double, home run and two walks in a 20-4 victory over Air Force (May 2) ... hit a home run at No. 12 Arkansas (Apr. 19), a blast that put the team on top 1-0 in the second inning in a contest they would eventually win 4-2 ... drove in a pair of runs in a 5-4 extra inning loss at No. 29 Wichita State (May 10) ... was 2-for-4 with two runs, three RBI and his first home run of the season against Lamar (Feb. 4) at the UTPA Classic; the Bears won that contest 11-7 ... was 4-for-4 with three RBI at New Mexico State (Feb. 25) ... had three hits and drove in two runs at New Mexico (Mar. 5) ... was 2-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, a double and home run against Nebraska-Kearney (Mar. 15); finished the series against UNK with four hits ... drove in a run and doubled in the Bears 4-2 victory over No. 2 Nebraska on March 28 ... homered in back-to-back games twice during the year ... had eight hits, three home runs and eight RBI in 10 games against D-I Independent teams ... hit .378 (14-for-37) with two home runs and 14 RBI in his final 10 games of the season ... hit a team-high .367 (11for-30) with a home run and seven RBI in eight games against teams that made the 2006 NCAA Tournament ... hit .786 (11-for-14) with runner on third base and less than two outs.
