2006: Appeared in 18 games, the eighth highest single-season total in program history, making 15 starts in his only season with the program ... led the team in wins (4), starts (15) and was second in innings pitched (79.2) and strikeouts (50) ... was fourth among D-I Independent players in starts ... best performance of the year came on March 28 at No. 2 Nebraska, when he pitched 6.2 innings, allowing eight hits and two runs and striking out five as the Bears topped the nationally-ranked Huskers 5-2, marking the highest-ranked opponent the program had defeated in over 30 years (No. 1 Arizona in 1974); gave up a lead-off single in that game but retired 15 of the first 19 batters he faced overall in picking up the win ... was named to the College Baseball Foundation National Honor Roll and was the Division I Independent Pitcher of the Week for that performance ... tossed a complete game at Creighton (Mar. 17), allowing seven hits and two runs in eight innings of work, only to see his team manage four hits in a 2-0 loss ... also named D-I Independent Pitcher of the Week on March 14 after allowing five hits and two runs in eight innings at Sacramento State (Mar. 10); had a perfect game through five innings in that contest ... pitched seven strong innings, allowing six hits and only one run while striking out five in a 2-1 loss to host Texas-Pan American (Feb. 3) at the UTPA Classic in the season-opener; go the no-decision in that game but did earn All-Tournament honors ... picked up first victory of the season against Air Force (Feb. 8), pitching six innings and striking out six in the 13-5 victory in Pueblo ... pitched 1.2 innings of relief at Kansas (May 14), picking up his fourth victory of the season ... struck out a season-high seven in 4.2 innings against BYU (Apr. 26), in an 8-4 Bears loss ... pitched to two batters in relief in the seventh inning at No. 12 Arkansas (Apr. 19), a game the Bears won 4-2 ... pitched one inning of relief against Air Force (May 2) on Senior Day; needed only three pitches to record the final three outs of the game in the Bears 20-4 victory ... had six strikeouts in 6.1 innings at New Mexico State (Feb. 24), a game where he got a no-decision ... scattered 10 hits and allowed four runs in 6.1 innings of work at No. 29 Wichita State, but got a no-decision in the 5-4 extra inning loss to the Shockers ... was named the Northern Colorado Male Student-Athlete of the Month for March after compiling a 3.14 ERA in 28.2 innings of work during the month.


Prior to UNC: Spent two seasons (2003 and 2004) at Lamar Community College in Lamar, Colo. and spent the 2005 season at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette ... at Lamar, was an honorable mention All-American and a first-team All-Region IX selection for coach Scott Crampton... named preseason NJCAA National Pitcher of the Year ... as a freshman, posted a 12-0 record (single-season record for wins) and 1.30 ERA and tossed a no-hitter ... was 11-1 as a sophomore ... finished career at Lamar with a 2.40 ERA and school's career leader in wins (21) ... at ULL, appeared in two games, pitched two innings and struck out three batters.
