After spending his first year at Northern Colorado with the football team, played his final three years with the baseball program, serving at one point as the Bears closer, set-up man, middle relief guy and a starter ... appeared in 46 career games, the eighth-highest total in school history ... finished his career with five saves, the sixth-highest total in school history ... was a three-time Division I Independent All-Academic selection.

2006: Appeared in 17 games, the 10th highest single-season total in program history, during his senior season, 12 in relief and five via starts ... first 10 appearances of the season came in relief, before he solidified a place in the starting rotation ... first start came at Air Force (Apr. 11), where he allowed eight hits and three runs in five innings on his way to his first victory of the year in a 15-5 Bears win ... in his second start, threw 109 pitches in 6.1 innings at No. 12 Arkansas (Apr. 18); allowed two hits and one run while striking out four but got a no-decision as the Razorbacks won 2-1 with a run in the bottom of the ninth inning ... pitched six innings, allowing seven hits and five runs at Big 12 Tournament Champion Kansas (May 13) in picking up his second victory of the season ... also had starts against BYU (Apr. 25) and IPFW (May 19) ... pitched the final three innings against Nebraska-Kearney (Mar. 15), allowing three hits and striking out two to pick up his only save of the season and the fifth save of his career ... as a reliever, had a stretch of nine scoreless innings that stretched over six games and ended in his first start of the season at Air Force ... pitched two innings of relief on Senior Day against Air Force (May 2), striking out four ... pitched one inning of relief against No. 29 Wichita State (May 9), allowing only one hit in a game the Bears would lose 1-0 ... had two strikeouts and allowed four hits in three innings of relief at Texas A&M (Feb. 17), a game the Bears would lose 5-0 ... D-I Independent All-Academic selection for the third year in a row.


2005: Appeared in 12 games, nine as a starter, during his junior season ... first two appearances were out of the bullpen, pitching at No. 11 Arizona (Feb. 13) and versus Creighton (Feb. 19) ... earned first start of the season and of his college career) at Kansas (Feb. 26) where he allowed only five hits and one unearned run while striking out a season-high seven in seven innings; Linn got a no-decision in that game although Bears were victorious 3-2 in 10 innings and snapped a seven-game losing streak to start the season ... was also brilliant on the mound at Washington State (Mar. 13), no hitting the Cougars through six innings and finishing with a line of one hit and three runs in six-plus innings of work as he earned the win in the Bears 4-3 victory, their first over a Pac-10 team in five tries, the last coming in the 1974 season ... struggled with his control the rest of the season, losing four times in his final seven appearances of the season, in games against tough competition including Creighton (Mar. 19), Arkansas (Apr. 5) and Kansas State (May 14) ... struck out six in no-decision start against Southern Utah (Apr. 1).

2004: Division I All-Independent honorable mention ... after missing the football season in the fall due to injury, showed no ill effects in the spring as he became the closer for UNC ... shared team lead with 5.08 ERA ... also shared team-high by appearing in 17 games, the sixth-highest total in school history ... led the team with four saves, the fourth-highest single season total in school history; those four career saves rank him ninth in program history ... 8.27 strikeouts-per-nine-innings ratio ranked him seventh among all Division I Independent players ... picked up lone victory of the season against Fort Hays State (Feb. 14), entering the game in relief facing a 8-0 deficit and pitched the final 5.1 innings, allowing five hits, no runs and striking out three as UNC came from behind to win 9-8 ... first save came on Feb. 22 at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, as he pitched the final two innings, allowing no hits and walking one in a 9-6 Bears' victory ... also picked up a save at Air Force, pitching final three innings, allowing only two hits and no runs while striking out a season-high four batters ... also struck out four batters at Kansas State (Mar. 9) ... came into contest with two outs and the tying run on second in the ninth at Creighton (Apr. 9) but struck out the final batter to preserve the 5-4 victory ... struck out three in two innings of work against Hawaii-Hilo (May 17) ... D-I Independent All-Academic selection.

High School: 2001 graduate of Cherry Creek High ... earned two letters in baseball for coach Mark Johnson ... 2001 all-conference selection ... team was 2001 state-runner up in class 5A ... also lettered three times in football ... three-time all-conference selection for Bruins ... team was 5A state runner-ups twice.

Personal: Born Nov. 23, 1982 in Denver ... son of Tom and Connie Linn ... majoring in business accounting and finance ... also a member of the UNC football team; did not play in 2003 due to injury but played in 13 of 14 games in 2002 and recorded 11 tackles, 0.5 sacks and recovered a fumble.
