2006: Division I All-Independent honorable mention selection ... played in 50 games, starting 38, in his first season with the program ... started 26 games at first base, 11 games at third base and one at designated hitter ... led the team in doubles (15 - one out of 10th place in school single-season history) and walks (27), was second in on-base percentage (.429) and third in hitting (.315) and slugging (.507) ... ranked eighth among D-I Independent players in doublers (0.30/game) and 10th in on-base percentage (.429) ... named D-I Independent Newcomer of the Week on May 16 after hitting .429 (6-for-14) with two runs, three doubles, two RBI, a .643 slugging percentage, .529 on-base percentage and a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage in games against Wichita State and Kansas ... during that week, hit 4-for-9 (.444) with three doubles and three RBI in a two-game sweep at eventual Big 12 Tournament Champion Kansas (May 13-14); his two-RBI double in the fifth inning of the Bears 7-4 win in the finale proved to be the game-winner ... in 10 games against D-I Independent teams, hit .410 (16-for-39) with 11 runs, six doubles, a triple, home run, five RBI and slugged .692 ... was fourth on the team in multiple-hit games (14) and third in multiple-RBI contests (7) ... hit .669 (6-for-9) in a three-game home series with South Dakota State (April 8-9) ... hit his first home run in a Bears uniform against Air Force (Feb. 8) and finished that contest with four RBI ... had a pair of multi-hit games at the D-I Independent Invitational, finishing the event with five hits and three RBI ... was 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI at New Mexico State (Feb. 24) ... had a pair of triples on the season, March 14 against Nebraska-Kearney and May 20 versus NYIT ... was 2-for-3 with three RBI and two walks against BYU (Mar. 25) ... hit 338 with runners on base and .714 (5-for-7) with a runner on third and less than two out ... made only four errors in 252 chances in the field (.984 fielding percentage).
Prior to UNC: Spent the 2005 season at Dallas Baptist University (also a Division I Independent) ... redshirted ... will have four years or eligibility left at Northern Colorado.
