2006: In his first year of action with the team after sitting out in 2005, played in 38 games, starting 29 contests ... was one of five Bears batters who had a .300 or better batting average on the season ... despite battling shoulder injuries that hindered his throwing, made several outstanding diving catches in the outfield during the year ... hit his first home run of the season against South Dakota State (Apr. 9); finished that game 3-for-5 with four runs scored and four RBI ... also homered at Utah Valley State (Apr. 15), where he was 3-for-4 with three runs scored, two RBI and a walk in a 14-11 victory over the Wolverines ... also had a season-high three hits against each Sacramento State (Mar. 11), Nebraska-Kearney (Mar. 14) and Washington State (Apr. 23) ... netted his lone triple of the season against IPFW (May 19) at the Division I Independent Invitational, an event the Bears won ... was 2-for-3 with two runs scored, three RBI and a double against Nebraska-Kearney (Mar. 15); finished the UNK series by hitting 5-for-9 (.556) with four runs, three RBI and two doubles against the Lopers ... was 2-for-4 with two runs scored, a RBI, two doubles and a walk in a 8-7 victory over Big 12 Tournament Champion Kansas (May 13) ... hit .387 (12-for-31) with 11 runs, a triple, two home runs and nine RBI in nine games during the season against D-I Independent teams; had a .645 slugging percentage in those games.
2005: Sat out 2005 season with an injury after transferring from Oregon State.
Prior to UNC: Attended Monterey Peninsula College in Monterey, Calif. ... earned second-team all-conference honors in 2003 as a first baseman after hitting .345 and earned first-team all-conference honors as a catcher last season after hitting .417 ... spent the first half of 2004-05 year at Oregon State before being injured and deciding to transfer.
