Final Stats

GREELEY, Colo. - The University of Nebraska-Omaha scored 62 second half points to turn a one-point lead into a 32-point victory as UNO and Northern Colorado were whistled for 53 combined fouls in a game that was dominated by the referees whistle.

UNO (11-2, 2-1 NCC) jumped out to eight-point lead, 24-16, with six minutes to play in the first half. But the Bears (8-5, 0-3 NCC) were able to whittle that lead down to one, 32-31, at halftime when freshman Erik Olson canned a three-pointer with 34 seconds to play.

Junior Tim Graham scored the first basket out of halftime for UNC to give the Bears their first lead since it was 2-0 early on. And with 17:09 to play in the game, senior Kevin Knudson nailed a three-pointer to once again give the Bears a slim one-point lead, but that would be all UNC could muster.

After that point, the Mavericks outscored the Bears 54-21 for the remainder of the game to pull out the victory.

Sean Nolen led UNC with 23 points and six assists on 4-7 three-point shooting. Knudson chipped in with 13 points including a perfect 5-5 from the line.

UNO put five scorers in double figures with Seth Nelson leading the way with 22, including 9-10 from the foul line. Adam Wetzel chipped in with 20 and eight rebounds while blocking three shots.

53 total fouls were called in the game, with UNO being whistled for 28 and UNC 25. UNO converted at the foul line, hitting 27-34 (79.4%) while UNC hit only 17-32 (53.1%), their lowest percentage of the year.

The road will not get much easier for the Bears as 9th ranked South Dakota invades Butler-Hancock Hall on Saturday afternoon at 4:00 p.m.
