DENVER, Colo. - The University of Northern Colorado men's basketball team jumped above the .500 mark for the first time this season by spanking Grand View (Iowa) 93-57 in the team's second of two games at the Metro State Runners Thanksgiving Classic.

After the game was tied at six early in the first half, UNC (3-2) used a 16-2 run to open a commanding lead and build a 46-17 halftime advantage and never looked back. UNC shot 53% in the first half, improved to 64.5% in the second 20 minutes and ended up shooting at a 59% clip for the game.

Junior transfer Parish Brockman led the Bears with 16 points in 20 minutes of action. He paced six UNC players in double figures as Josh Nigut (15), Kevin Knudson (14), Erik Olson (13), Sean Nolen (12) and Heath Orvis (11) all hit double digits.

Demarcus Reid led Grand View (1-9), a NAIA school, with 14 points on 5-5 shooting.

UNC returns home to face Colorado Mines on Thursday night at 5:30 p.m.
