Joins the UNC coaching staff as a first-year student assistant coach.
2003: Started all 11 games as a defensive end ... led the team with 16.5 sacks and 22 tackles-for-loss ... earned at least one sack in 10 of the 11 contests ... tracked down the Florida Atlantic quarterbacks for 3.5 sacks and earned I-AA Independent Defensive Player of the Week award honors for his effort in the Bears' 21-19 loss to NCAA I-AA playoff participant FAU (Oct. 18) ... tallied seven tackles and 4.5 TFLs in the Bears' 35-7 win over Minnesota State (Sept. 20) and was also honored as the I-AA Independent Defensive Player of the Week ... forced a team-high five fumbles including the game-clinching fumble in the Bears' 14-10 win over NCAA playoff participant Montana State (Sept. 27).
2002: Played in all 14 games and drew 10 starting assignments as a defensive tackle ... was credited with at least one tackle in all 14 games ... notched three tackles-for-loss in the season-opening win over Western State (Sept. 7) ... tallied a season-high six tackles in the double overtime, 30-23, win at Nebraska-Omaha (Oct. 5) ... tied for 8th on the team in total tackles (47) ... ranked third on the squad in tackles-for-loss (14).
Prior to UNC: Played one season at Bethany College in Linborg, Kan. ... named first-team all-conference as a defensive lineman ... also competed in track.
