LARAMIE, Wyo. - Tied after the first eight bouts, the University of Wyoming wrestling team won the final two weight classes to win a 22-15 decision against the University of Northern Colorado in both teams final dual meets of the year. The Bears finish the regular season 6-7 in duals and tied for second place in the Western Wrestling Conference standings with a 4-2 record. The match started at 149-pounds, where junior Daniel Prater lost a 7-1 decision to Cole Dallaserra. The Bears took the team lead after 157-pounds, as freshman Rocco Depaolo won a major decision, 11-0 over Cody Chipperfield. The Cowboys won the next three weight classes and the Bears found themselves down 15-4 in the team score. Sophomore Patrick Carey won a 3-1 decision over Dan Barrone at 197-pounds to start things rolling. Next on the mat was senior heavyweight Reece Hopkin, who won his ninth straight match with a 10-1 major decision over Jason Still. Sophomore 125-pounder Tony Mustari completed a perfect Western Wrestling Conference season with his 8-0 major decision over Cody Grant to tie the team score at 15-15, but the Bears could not hold on for the win as Blayze Bahe lost a 3-0 decision and Richard Lohr lost a major decision to #17 Carter Downing to complete the match.
