GREELEY, Colo. - The Big Sky Conference today announced the yearly award winners and all-conference teams for women's basketball and the University of Northern Colorado had two players honored.

 

Junior forward Jamie Schroeder was tabbed the league's Newcomer of the Year in a vote by the league's head coaches. In conference games only, Schroeder ranks among the top five in the conference in scoring (3rd, 17.8), field goal percentage (3rd, .497), free throw percentage (4th, .904) and three-point field goal percentage (3rd, .431). Schroeder was also an honorable mention all-conference pick.

 

Senior center Danielle Hagen was named to the Big Sky All-Conference Second Team. In conference games only, she ranked sixth in scoring (16.3), second in rebounds (9.7), second in field goal percentage (.510), 11th in assists (2.88) and 13th in blocked shots (0.88).

 

Schroeder and Hagen and the rest of the Bears  will be in action on Thursday evening in the quarterfinals of the Big Sky Conference Tournament against Portland State in Missoula. The Bears are 14-15 overall and ended the year 8-8 in Big Sky Conference play.
