PHOENIX, Ariz. -- Northern Colorado's women's golf team entered the final round of the Big Sky Conference Golf Championship on Wednesday tied for fourth and within shouting distance of event-leader Portland State.

But the Bears saved their worst for last, shooting their highest round of the tournament (322) Wednesday at Foothills Golf Club and falling into sole possession of sixth place with a 939 three-day total on the par-72, 6,131-yard course. It was, however, the best score the team carded at a three-round tournament this season.

Northern Arizona finished in second in the team standings with a 913 (302, 207, 304; +49), and Eastern Washington, which led after day one on Monday, took third at 914 (300, 310, 304; +50).

Individually for the Bears, senior Jenny Henderson (Fargo, N.D.) finished her career with another top-15 finish, coming in in 14th place. She shot 79 Wednesday and ended with a 15-over-par 231 (76, 76, 79) for the tournament.

Senior Katie Avery (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) came in tied for 18th (234, +18) after a 80 on Wednesday. She shot 78 on day one and 76 on day two.

Senior Gina Rodriguez (Fort Morgan, Colo.), who was Northern Colorado's top finisher on day one, finished tied for 22nd at 236 (+20) following an 82 on day three; Heather Daviner (Parker, Colo.) came in tied for 30th with a 241 (82, 78, 81; +25); and Matti Nelson (Moorhead, Minn.) tied for 34th with a 245 (79, 83, 83; +29)
