Greeley, COLO. - The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) recently released the men's and women's soccer team academic awards, based on grades for the 2006-07 academic year and the University of Northern Colorado soccer program was honored for its accomplishments in the classroom.
Northern Colorado was one of five Big Sky Conference teams to be recognized and sported the highest grade point average of any of the league squads, at 3.31. Eastern Washington and Northern Arizona both tallied 3.20 cumulative gpa's, while Portland State was at 3.18 and Montana was at 3.08.
The Bears advanced to the championship game of the Big Sky Conference Tournament, where they fell to Sacramento State. They finished the season 8-9-3 and had five players named to the All-Conference team.
