HOUSTON, Texas - At the end of the second day at the Conference USA Championships, the University of Northern Colorado swimming & diving team finds themselves in 6th place with 106 points. Southern Methodist University currently leads with 323 points.

The top finish for the Bears came from sophomore Nan Liu, freshman Tori Gutt, junior Chesney Randolph and junior Katie Schmitt who placed 5th in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:57.53. Schmitt also provided the Bears with a top 10 finish in the 500 freestyle, placing 7th in the final round with a time of 5:03.51.

Also placing in the top ten was freshman Kelly Schmeckpepper-Cook who placed 9th in 3-meter diving with a score of 212.

The Bears will continue action at the C-USA Championship through March 1.
