Women's Tennis Falls At Wyoming



Freshmen Jodi Ciarvella earned the Bears' only set victory against Wyoming.

LARAMIE, Wyo. -- Northern Colorado's women's tennis team dropped a 6-0 decision at Wyoming on Saturday, March 15, in Laramie, Wyo. The match didn't include doubles competition because the Cowgirls' only included two indoor courts.

The Bears' Jodi Ciarvella, like she has for much of the season, played one of the Bears' most competitive matches, losing 6-4, 2-6, 10-5 at No. 6 singles to Wyoming's Brittany DeFelice. The second-set win was Northern Colorado's only set victory of the dual.

At No. 1 singles, the Bears' Tabatha Knop lost 6-3, 6-4 to the Cowgirls' Corina Lazar.

Northern Colorado (3-10) will next play at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 22, in a Big Sky Conference dual against Portland State in Greeley, Colo.
