Teale Goble joins the University of Northern Colorado staff as a volunteer assistant coach after completing a fabulous playing career for the Bears. Goble, a recipient of the prestigious NCAA postgraduate scholarship, is completing her master's degree at UNC after receiving her bachelor’s degree in finance in 2003. On the court, Goble was one of the best players ever to suit up for the Bears. In 2002, she helped lead the team to a 31-3 record and an NCAA Elite 8 berth. During the season she set the UNC all-time attacks record (5,137) and for her career finished second in kills (1,852) and digs (1,626) and eighth in service aces (135). Her 5,137 career attacks rank her eighth all-time in Division II history. In 2002, she was the only Division II volleyball player to earn both athletic and academic All-American honors. Goble was a second-team AVCA All-American after averaging 3.96 kills and 4.07 digs per game. In the classroom, she had a 3.93 G.P.A. in finance and became the 39th UNC athlete, and fifth UNC volleyball player, to earn Verizon Academic All-American honors. “When we have such young outside hitters it is important to have a coach that can help them out,” UNC head coach Ron Alexander said. “Since Teale just stepped off the court, she will know how to tell the girls what they are going to face each weekend.”
