Nov. 14, 2007
Volleyball Volleyball head coach Lyndsey Benson announced the signing of two student-athletes in Amanda Arterburn and Natasha Law. "We are so excited to add Natasha and Amanda to our young, talented team next year," stated Benson. "They are what we are looking for in a student, a citizen and an athlete and will help continue the growth of our program." Amanda Arterburn, 5-7, DS/OH, Arterburn is a four year member of the varsity volleyball team for the Buffaloes, including a two-time captain for head coach Katie Hagen. She is a three-time honorable mention All-State selection and has helped her squad win the conference title this year and advance to districts. "Amanda is a great defender and passer that will compete for playing time right away in the back row," said Benson. "She is a tough, relentless competitor with a great court presence. Amanda is one of those athletes that you have to force out of the gym and weight room. She absolutely loves the sport and can't get enough it. She is well trained and a great athlete. She will change the outcome of matches for us during her career here."
Natasha Law, 6-1, MB, Law is a three-time varsity letterwinner and starter for head coach Chanda Eager, including the team captain in her junior and senior seasons. She was an all-district selection in both 2006 and 2007 and helped lead her team to the regional quarterfinals in both 2005 and earlier this season. Law is also a three-time academic team pick. "Natasha has great potential as a middle or right side hitter," Benson said. "I really think we will see a lot of growth in her in the first few weeks with the team. She has all of the qualities we are looking for in that position; quick lateral movements, a fast arm and good vision. She is a good leader, hard worker and will really take off when she trains year round at this level." Women's Basketball Women's basketball head coach Jaime White today announced the signing of three student-athletes in Kaisha Brown, Courtney Kranz and Lauren Oosdyke. "I feel really good about this recruiting class," said White. "I feel all three will help our offense immediately."

Was a second-team All-Northwest Iowa Girls Basketball selection last year. "Kaisha is a great catch and shoot player," said White. "She will probably play either the two or the three for us and will add a lot of offense." Courtney Kranz, 6-3, C,
Kranz is a three-time letterwinner entering her senior season with the Blazers. She is also a two-time all-conference selection and was the only unanimous pick as a junior. She helped lead her team to the conference championship last year and also is a three-time letterwinner in volleyball, where her team was three-time conference champions. She plays club basketball for the NC Heat where they placed third at the AAU Nationals last season. "Courtney can score with her back to the basket," said White. "She brings a lot of height to the team and will be an immediate threat."
